Hyderabad
Hyderabad is the capital city of Telangana state of India. The city is one of the famous places in India. Hyderabad is known as the ‘City of Pearls’ because of trading in pearls and also known as ‘Nizam City’ because of Nizams’ rule. Hyderabad is rich in monuments, forts, nature, food, pearl jewellery and a lot more shopping. Hyderabad city has 3 partitions as Old city, New city and Hitec City. All the tourist attractions are located in the old city. I spent on a 4 days trip in Hyderabad. I visited Hyderabad during February month and the weather was hot and sunny during day and cold at night but this is the weather throughout the year.
You’ll get many decent hotels at an affordable price on Kachiguda Station Rd, Kachiguda. The locality is more of a market area which gives you easy accessibility for basic needs and restaurants.
Hyderabad is a safe place to travel by taxis. This is more easy, affordable and comfortable way of commute for the tourists here. The taxi drivers have good communication skills in Hindi and English making it easy for tourists of different languages.
Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple at the hilltop and made up of white marbles with towers which gives a clear identity even from a distance. The temple is a beautiful architecture with big shrines and carvings. One should visit here by morning or post evening as there will be open sun and you need to walk in bare foot on hot ground.
Golconda Fort is one of the most magnificent fortress complexes in India dated back to 13th century. Most parts of the fort was ruined during Kings’ rule and now attracts a lot of tourists. It takes 3-4 hours to reach the top of the fort and return to the ground. You should go to this fort by start of the day or post afternoon as you don’t find shade in fort. It’s good to carry water bottles, snacks and umbrella. Try to clap hands at the dome entrance which can be heard at the hill top due to reverberation; this served as a warning signal of any impending danger to communicate from ground to people staying at the top of the fort
The zoo has a good number of animal species like, lions, tigers, leopards, white tiger, hippopotamus and bird species like Ostrich, parrots, etc. The zoo also has a small children’s play area and a fish aquarium with different species of fresh water fishes. You can finish zoo visit in 1 to 2 hours.
If you are looking for amusement park to chill yourself in the heat, Jalavihar is the one which is economical and in the city limits. You have water sliders and other rides in this place.
NTR Gardens is a very big beautiful garden which attracts families and kids. The garden is full of lush greenery with fountains and has colourful flowers everywhere. The park has a play area for the kids and a toy train ride. There is a tree house with water slide which doesn’t function but you can click good picture here.
The park lies besides NTR Gardens. You can visit NTR Samadhi once you enter into the big entrance. You can enjoy the lake view across road by evening giving you cool breeze.
You can visit this park post evening which is close to NTR Gardens and NTR Park. The park has a big amphitheater which displays the laser show describing the history of Hyderabad for 20 minutes. Then starts the musical fountain show with colourful lights and it is a good sight to watch. The part has a direct view of the Hussain Sagar Lake..
Buddha Statue is the giant statue which can be viewed from a far distance and it lies in the middle of Hussain Sagar Lake. You can reach to this statue by boat from Lumbini Park boating point. It’s a serene beauty and one should definitely visit this place post evening when the statue is lit by changing colour lights.
This is a must-visit place in Hyderabad which takes an entire day for an entertainment tour. The film city is the pride of Hyderabad covering an area of 2000 acres comprising of cinema, shooting sets, adventures, amusements, etc. in one place. You should be there by morning starting time not to miss any shows. It is worth visiting where you can watch drama making of cinema, capture photos of yourself in the popular film sets.
The dam is located on the banks of River Krishna. The place is far away from the city taking 4 hours of travel. You can visit this place if you are crossing the location. The place has a boating in the river. At the bank of the river, the boat stops letting visitors pay a visit to a garden and gallery upon the hill but there is nothing much at the top and you can return back in the boat.
Charminar is an ancient monument of Hyderabad constructed in 16th century. When you climb up the iconic structure, you can view the surrounding markets. Charminar has a mosque at the top floor. You’ll find a lot of shopping around the Charminar.
Hyderabad, being the place of Nawabs is famous for ‘Biryani’ which is a delicacy of Nawabs for years. You’ll get a big bowl of the delicious Biryani in any of the restaurants there at an average cost which can be shared by more than 2 people. You should see the size of bowl not to order in excess.
When you visit Hyderabad, you can do all the shopping at one place ‘Charminar’. Hyderabad is famous for natural pearls so you should try buying it in jewellery shop. Many guys sell pearls on road at a cheaper cost which is not natural pearl. You should know to identify the original pearl. You can buy a lot of products like, bangles, handbags, shawls, artworks, foot wears, etc. in the markets around Charminar. The cost of all the products will be cheaper than you get in the bazaar in any of the cities..
